Erasmus+ accreditation (English)

At Silkeborg Bibliotekerne (Silkeborg Libraries), we are proud to be accredited under the Erasmus+ programme in the field of adult education. This accreditation signifies our commitment to a strategically long-term approach to enhance the competencies of our staff and partners through international experiences, knowledge sharing, and the development of new library practices.

The accreditation is a recognition of our strategic efforts in professional development and international cooperation. It also enables us to continuously apply for EU-funding to support mobility activities across Europe.

What is a mobility activity?

Icon Description

A mobility activity is a stay in another European country where staff members or partners participate in learning activities. These may include:

  • Courses and professional training
  • Study visits and job shadowing at other libraries or organisations
  • Workshops, networking activities, and professional visits

The purpose of these mobility activities is to bring new knowledge back to the organisation, build international relationships, and develop competencies that strengthen the services we provide to library users.

International guests

Icon Description

As part of our Erasmus+ activities, we also welcome guests from other European countries. These may be librarians, educators, or other professionals who visit us to gain insight into our practices through job shadowing, professional meetings, or collaborative activities.

We see hosting international colleagues as a great strength. It creates opportunities for mutual learning, new perspectives, and cross-border knowledge sharing, while also helping us develop our own competencies and services.

Silkeborg Bibliotekerne's focus areas

Icon Description

Through Erasmus+, we are particularly committed to three key areas of development:

AI and the role of the library

We explore and build competencies in artificial intelligence, focusing on how the technology can support library services, communication, and services, while maintaining a critical and ethical approach to its use.

Democratic and sustainable development

Libraries play an important role in supporting democracy and sustainability. We work to strengthen citizens’ participation, critical information literacy, and engagement in societal development, with a focus on social, cultural, and environmental sustainability.

New target groups and vulnerable citizens
We are particularly focused on reaching citizens who do not currently use the library, as well as vulnerable and disadvantaged citizens. Through new methods, partnerships, and inspiration from international experiences, we aim to make the library more inclusive and relevant for everyone.
